Introductions
How to login and save your work: Login - rpdpxxx (the 3x's represent the workstation number on the label on your computer + 141. Password - aaaaaa. WRITE THIS LOGIN INFORMATION DOWN AND USE IT EVERYTIME YOU LOGIN NO MATTER WHAT WORKSTATION YOU SIT AT IN THE FUTURE.
How to name your work: firstInitial_lastName_projectName. So for example: C_Chang_MrPotatoHead. Save all work in the rpdpxxx folder that you login as. If it is not there, it is not turned in.
Class schedule & website
Photoshop Elements Information: download the trial version of Photoshop Elements (7 or 8 is fine) so you can work on projects at home.
Intro to Photoshop Elements 7: Organize, Edit, Create Share - toolbar overview
Align/distribute graphics, rotate text/graphics, flow text around graphics
Add tables and graphs
Create school newsletter from scratch: 2 pages, title with your school graphic, at least 3 graphics per page, 3-column text on first page, make text flow from last column on first page to first column on last page. Make sure you include bullet points somewhere in your newsletter, and your contact/school information.
Make your own business cards and print out (use 325-2 printer). Save cards in your rpdp folder
Create a certificate: save a copy in your folder AND print out a copy using the special paper provided.
9:45a-10:00a: Break
10:00-11:45a:
Create 3-fold brochure that is advertising your program: ie what you teach, a sport that you coach, a club that you advise, etc. Make the brochure colorful and inviting.
Use different size fonts, colors, images that relate to your topic, choose a template and customize to your program.
Print out a copy on the brochure paper available AND save a copy in your folder for grading.
Discuss the final project that is due next class.

Complete Cruise Ship Mania Project as outlined in these directions | note: just do the newsletter NOT the cards. Use the examples as a guideline but make the project your own.
Research the cruise information on the links provided in the directions. Make your newsletter as close to a real cruise experience as possible, complete with applicable images and real cruise ship logos.
Email completed project to me at clchang@interact.ccsd.net if you are not coming in to use the lab today.
