The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation -
This site is not only a great source to find the rules of punctuation and spelling, but it also has a number of activities use to practice those rules.

Daily Grammar -
Daily Grammar is a free service of Word Place, Inc.  Much like A Word A Day (no affiliation), which teaches you a new word each day, Daily Grammar sends you e-mail messages with a writing lesson five days of the week and a quiz on the sixth day.  You can see the earlier lessons in their Archive section.

Dante's Infernal Grammar -
This unit is designed to help the teacher introduce students to the rich and varied elements of The Inferno. Based on John Ciardi's translation, this curriculum packet provides a compact and comprehensive guide through the work. In addition, the unit furnishes the teacher with specific grammar and usage reviews connected directly with the literary material. These skills have been deliberately selected since many appear on the SAT II standardized test which many high school students take in their senior year. It is hoped that this "in context" approach, while reviewing specific literary content and terminology, will reinforce essential usage skills. Pairing the "hellish" topic of grammar with Dante's tour of the bottomless pit of perdition will perhaps seem a fitting coupling for many students! Perhaps too this rather light-hearted combination of Dante's vivid imagery of the terrifying abyss paired with the often terror-inducing topics of grammar, usage and sentence structure will serve to present both topics in a fashion that is both enjoyable and memorable!

GrammarNOW! -
This is a free site dedicated to answering specific grammar, composition, research or formatting questions.

Guide to Grammar and Style -
Provides a guide to grammar that is organized alphabetically and can be searched by keying in topics.

Guide to Grammar and Writing -
A wonderful site that includes interactive quizzes, PowerPoint presentations, "Ask Grammar" helpline, and grammar log.

Pop-Up Grammar -
This interactive site lets students test their own knowledge while having fun at the same time. There are a variety of quizzes on various grammar topics. Students' performances are evaluated and students are notified of areas of strengths and weaknesses.
