American Library Association -
This is a professional site that offers information, support and links for anyone interested in the areas of reading and literature.

Center for Media Literacy -
The Center for Media Literacy (CML) is a nonprofit educational organization that provides educational resources dedicated to promoting and supporting a framework for accessing, analyzing, evaluating and creating media content. CML works to help citizens, especially the young, develop critical thinking and media production skills needed to live fully in the 21st century media culture. Use the drop down menu to find a focus area or Best Practices to find instructional tools and techniques that teachers can use to organize their classes, create engaging activities and accomplish their learning objectives.

Education Oasis -
The site is intended to be a warm and friendly "oasis" where teachers can get together to share, ask questions, get advice, encouragement, and inspiration. Set up like an online magazine (e-zine), they include sections such as Curriculum, Lesson Plans, Subject Resources, Instruction, Idea Central, Teacher Tools. There are articles, Product and Book Reviews, downloadable materials, and more.

Ethics Videos on the Web (USD) -
Founded in 1994 by Lawrence M. Hinman, University of San Diego for ethics instructors and their students, this site includes videos on an extensive range of topics such as: Aristotle ; Abortion; Academic Integrity; Animal Rights; Bioethics; Terrorism; Death Penalty; Environmental Ethics; Euthanasia; Gender and Sexism; Poverty and Welfare; Racism; and World Hunger. The main site, Ethics Updates (http://ethics.sandiego.edu/) also includes a library of classic texts, Case Studies, guides to writing ethics papers, and a glossary of key ethical terms.

This is a professional site that offers information, support, and links for the English teacher.

National Research Center on English Learning & Achievement (CELA) -
Provides information on what elements of curriculum, instruction, & assessment are essential to developing high literacy & how schools can best help students achieve success.
