Booklist -
American Library Association's Booklists magazine of reviews is now online and includes Reviews of books for Adults, Reviews of books for Youth, Reviews of Audiovisual Media, Reviews of Reference Materials, Booklists Editors' Choice "95, Best Book Lists, and more.

ClassicNotes -
ClassicNotes provides free literature summaries and analysis. All of the ClassicNotes have been written and compiled by our Harvard essayists. Find detailed summaries, character information, and literature references.

CNN Learning Resources -
The site offers web-delivered instruction using CNN and CBS 5 - KPIX (CBS Broadcasting) news stories. Western/Pacific LINCS (part of the National Institute for Literacy's LINCS Project) and Literacyworks, uses these stories to develop an online literacy site that benefits all learners and instructors. Though the intended audience is adults, instructors and learners (of all ages) are encouraged to use this material to promote better literacy.Each module includes the full text of each story and interactive activities to test comprehension. The learner can choose to read the text, listen to the text, and view a short video clip of the story. Each module is designed for ease of use so the learner can use it independently. The instructor can also incorporate any story into class activities and lesson plans.

CyberGuides: Grades 9-12 -
Supplementary, standards-based, web-delivered units of instruction centered on core works of literature. Each CyberGuide contains a student and teacher edition, standards, a task and a process by which it may be completed, teacher-selected web sites and a rubric, based on California Language Arts Content Standards.

Novelguide.com -
This site is the premier free source for literary analysis on the web. We provide an educational supplement for better understanding of classic and contemporary literature through Chapter Summaries, Character Profiles, Metaphor Analysis, Theme Analyses, and Author Biographies.

SparkNotes.com -
Created by Harvard University students and alumni, SparkNotes is a collection of free online study guides to approximately 100 literature classics. Each SparkNotes contain sections on context, characters, study questions, and a message board for collaborative learning.
