Process
The most important concept is that the teacher
assigns the students to their groups of two reporters.

I recommend that you place two different levels of students as the pair.  Perhaps a higher reading/writing level student with alower reading/writing level student.

Like a real reporter's life... set a deadline for each part of this
assignment.

Each reporters' job is equal.  No one reporter's job is more
difficult.

Each print out of the reporters' questions has the website above it so they know which website to visit to answer their specific questions.

After the students' turn in a copy of their rough draft article on Lincoln, make sure that you meet with each student individually checking on how much each student has contributed to the assignment.

Make sure that the students' followed all the directions for the rough draft (ex: catchy headline, etc.)

Before the students turn in the final product, you need to remind them of what you want turned in and the order you would like them to turn in their materials. (ex: typed article, rough draft, brainstorm, Reporters 1 and 2's worksheets.)

Always provide praise for on task behavior!!

The rubric for this WebQuest was simply created. The students are graded on five sections and can receive a score between zero to six.  A score of zero is the lowest score one can receive, and a score of a six is the highest score a student can earn.

This WebQuest promotes team work, and good communication amongst the students and the teacher.
