Gordon Hammond – Elite Tennis Professional
Coach Hammond is one of Las Vegas' most respected tennis professionals, with more than 30 years of coaching and playing experience. As Director of the Summerlin Tennis Club and Summerlin's tennis program since 1999, Coach Hammond has dedicated his career to developing players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to nationally ranked junior competitors.
An Elite RSPA/USPTA Professional, Coach Hammond's accomplishments include being named the U.S. Professional Tennis Association High School Coach of the Year and earning recognition as USTA Nevada Recreational Coach of the Year. Throughout his coaching career, he has led multiple championship high school tennis programs, including guiding Bishop Gorman High School to numerous state titles (15+) and later returning to high school coaching at Palo Verde High School.
Looking ahead, Coach Hammond's vision for Palo Verde tennis is to continue growing the program into one of the premier high school tennis programs in Nevada. He hopes to expand player development opportunities, increase community involvement and support, strengthen the program's competitive success, and help more student-athletes pursue tennis beyond high school.
